The February Update 2002
Lets see, the last update I did was in November so that means I have missed two months, but I have been busy. So let me try to do a little catch up with what's been going on around here.
Matthew
Well here is someone who keeps exceeding our expectations in his development. This school year has been great, Terri has been very involved with the school and working with Matthew's teachers to provide them with his dietary needs etc. The teachers in turn have been working extremely well with us to insure that Matthew's dietary and educational needs are being met. This simple combination of a little teamwork has made it possible for Matthew to continue to develop as though he were a completely normal child without any disabilities at all. If only every teacher and school we encounter could do this, children like Matthew would almost assuredly be able to lead a normal life as they grow. We can only hope that next year will be just as good.
Chris
You know there comes a time in every child's life when they become a teenager and he really has. I can say without going in to detail that one lesson we have learned in this day and age is that you do not let your teenager have internet access in a location where you can not see where they are going. Since we have a technology type of family, everyone here had internet access on their own computer's in their own rooms. This was our mistake, one which I have now corrected. Chris is still working at McDonalds and appears to be staying in good health, as he still is on prescription iron supplements.
Terri
Terri has been busy with all those mom things (kids and such) while still doing a little bit of substituting with the schools. She has also been getting more involved with the Autism PAC meetings that occur monthly, with one of her new found talents that she thought she never had, cooking. With Matthew's diet she has had to learn how to cook foods that even for a chef would be challenging considering the types of ingredients that need to be used. In any case Terri has started taking her foods to these meetings showing just how good they can be. Terri's latest test was making angel food cake with a red and white frosting. Yummmmm.
Tim
As for me not much new, with the exception that I have started to work on our family tree with much more interest and have started to prepare my model rockets for the spring launch. They have been in storage for a few years but Matthew has shown some real excitement about seeing them lift off, and I have even got some of my coworkers interested in this. As soon as the weather clears up a bit we will be doing a launch, and I will be trying to take some video and pictures to put on this site.
A final note. I would like to pay my respects to the memory of my grandfather Harry Kozee who passed away on February 13 2002 at the age of 82. Harry was born on a Tuesday February 3 1920. Although he was not my biological grandfather, he was the only one I ever really new, as my biological grandfather passed away while I was a baby. Grandpa Harry gave me my first bicycle of my own, a blue 24" 3 speed. I will always hold that dear to my heart as it truly meant so much to me. I will miss you grandpa, until we meet again in God's kingdom
